Community

JP Corry is proud to provide local communities with more than just quality building materials.

Building strong and positive relationships within the communities we serve is at the heart of everything we do. Across our branch network, our teams actively engage with local stakeholders through partnerships with sports clubs, community groups and youth organisations, helping to create lasting social impact.
We support a wide range of initiatives through funding, sponsorship and practical assistance, while also creating opportunities for people to develop valuable workplace skills.

Work Experience Placements

Since 2020, JP Corry has supported 47 work placements, providing a variety of work experience opportunities for individuals seeking to enter or rejoin the workforce.
Working closely with organisations including the Department for Communities, NOW Group and Rutledge Training, as well as local schools and colleges, we are committed to helping people gain the skills, confidence and experience needed to progress into employment. Through these partnerships, we continue to invest in the future of our communities and support the development of local talent.

We are proud to work in partnership with non-traditional skills training provider, Women's TEC. We are pleased to promote diversity in the workplace whilst also helping to reduce skill shortages in the Construction sectors. Our support encompasses material donations for workshops and volunteering to showcase successes and examples of women in construction.

JP Corry is delighted to partner with NOW Group, a social enterprise supporting people with learning difficulties and autism into employment. Our support involves utilising Loaf Catering for corporate catering, sponsorships and customer service training for staff.

The JAM Card - which stands for 'Just A Minute' - is a pioneering initiative created by the NOW Group. The initiative allows those with communication barriers to discreetly tell others they simply need a little more time, in a simple, effective, non-verbal manner. With customer needs at the forefront of our business, staff across our branch network have completed training, equipping teams with the skills and expertise to provide a consistent and welcoming customer experience. This further strengthens our promise to ensure an inclusive, friendly workplace where each and every customer feels at ease.

Business in the Community – Responsible Business Awards
In September 2025 JP Corry attended the Business in the Community Northern Ireland Responsible Business Awards- an inspiring celebration of the incredible work businesses across Northern Ireland are doing to drive positive change and uphold the highest ESG standards. We are delighted to have not only retained our Gold CORE Standard but also had the honour of passing the baton for Responsible Business of the Year to SHS Group. Huge congratulations on this well deserved recognition!

Special Schools Careers Convention
JP Corry staff volunteered at St Gerard’s School in 2025 and 2026 as part of the Belfast Special Schools Career Convention. Volunteers hosted the STEM Spaghetti Marshmallow Challenge, engaging students in teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on learning while promoting interest in STEM subjects.
